So, what is the Unreal & What If Challenge?
This is the wildcard lane. If your idea does not sit cleanly in Film, Advertising, Product and Design, or A Day With, it belongs here. The brief is short: bring something impossible to life as if it were real. A city built on the backs of slow moving turtles. A forest where the trees grow upside down. Rain that falls upward and collects into floating lakes. An ocean of liquid glass that freezes into sculptures every night. Qolaba does the world, the physics, the light, and the shot. You do the idea.
Anything goes, that is the point
No format rules, no genre rules, no product to sell. If you can describe it and it does not exist, this is the lane for it.
Physics you can rewrite
Rain that falls up. Buildings that breathe. Time that moves sideways. Qolaba can render the rules once you write them.
The wildcard nobody else has room for
The other tracks reward polish inside a form. This one rewards the idea nobody else on the leaderboard would think of.
Every contest has entries that do not fit anywhere. Usually they get scored down. Here they get their own lane. Unreal and What If is where the surreal, the impossible, and the completely unhinged ideas go, and it is one of the strongest categories to win in because the jury is actively looking for something they have never seen before.
